This extensive refurbishment of three mews houses in Chelsea, saw the three properties converted into a single dwelling. The changes include the construction of a new modern glazed link which joins the properties across the end of a small private mews. This is a very sensitive conservation area where similar proposals had been refused planning permission in the past. Witcher Crawford overcame this issue by convincing The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea that the project was of the highest design merit, creating a piece of good quality contemporary architecture that enhanced rather than detracted from its setting.
