Witcher Crawford was asked to oversee the redevelopment of the Parish Hall at Hursley Village, near Winchester. The existing Hall, located in the centre of the historic village and conservation area, was a conglomeration of buildings of various dates, the oldest of which was once a Victorian School.
On review of a detailed brief from the Parish Council, it was decided to replace the majority of the existing Hall in order to create a modern, multi-function building, whilst retaining the key elements of the existing historic structure.
The new design blends traditional details and materials, found throughout the village, with contemporary design elements in order to create a modern facility that fits comfortably into its historic setting.
